We also offer you a specific service so that you can choose whether you need a lorry for dry or temperature-controlled goods, full or partial loading of the lorry.

Land transport adapted to your needs

There are different types of land transport depending on the type of goods to be transported or their dimensions.

Depending on the type of goods you can choose between different options:

  • Tarpaulin truck: The truck is covered on the sides and on top with tarpaulins, which can be removed. In these cases, loading and unloading can be adapted to a large number of materials.
  • Open platform: The platform on which the load is loaded is open. It is usually used for heavy goods.
  • Refrigerated: These are used for goods that must be refrigerated. The most commonly transported goods in this type of truck are foodstuffs.
  • Tank: Tanks are used for the transport of chemical, liquid and gaseous products, a material that requires a higher level of safety.
  • Closed: They have a rigid structure and can only be loaded from the rear.
  • Containers: Multimodal transport that facilitates loading and unloading from ships.

Depending on the type of truck:

Rigid: The driver’s cab and the trailer where the goods are loaded are the same structure. They are small in size.
Articulated: Vehicle with two rigid parts that are joined by a joint.

Advantages of land transport of goods

The main advantages of land transport are:

  • Economic price: It is the cheapest means of transport.
  • Time flexibility. Transfers at any time of the day without any time element being an inconvenience as long as it is a full load or dedicated truck.
  • Ease of tracking. Trucks usually incorporate a GPS system, with which you can track the location of the goods at all times.
  • Maximum security. All types of goods can be transported, including dangerous goods. The goods insurance service can be added.
  • Greater versatility: It allows goods to be transported from door to door, thus ensuring efficient movement.

Documents required to transport goods by land

Documentation for overland shipments:

  • An inland consignment note, CMR, must be issued. This is a land transport contract that specifies the conditions under which the goods have been received for transport by truck. It also serves to identify the parties involved and the goods being transported.
  • The consignment note is drawn up by the transport agent (owner of the vehicle) or the company itself and is addressed to the exporter, the company and the importer.
  • A certificate of receipt must be issued in order to be able to carry out both export and import clearance, which together with the commercial invoice, packing list and clearance authorisation will be necessary.
